The NSW Government has called for Expressions of Interest from the private sector to build and operate the Sydney International Convention, Exhibition and Entertainment Precinct at Darling Harbour.
The 12-hectare precinct, expected to be completed by 2016, will contain a diverse range of world-class convention, exhibition and entertainment facilities.
The precinct will include 40,000 square metres of exhibition space, capacity to host sporting and cultural events for at least 12,000 people, and high-class banqueting facilities for a minimum of 4,000 people.
A new upmarket hotel and public retail, food and beverage outlets are also expected to be provided.
